McCardel Restoration was established in 2002 and has been serving the greater Lansing area and surrounding communities for over 22 years assisting commercial and residential property owners with mitigation and reconstruction after weather and event-driven disasters.
Job Purpose
Our growing team is seeking an Estimator to help retain customers by fulfilling McCardel Restoration's contractual obligations through the timely submission and settlement of our mitigation and construction invoices and estimates.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet required deadlines for estimate and invoice completion and submission.
- Confirm submittals and schedule follow-up communication.
- Confirm invoices and estimates submitted and enter into QB’s.
- Track items for weekly meeting and cascading messages to other departments and positions. Ie:? Variances in actual vs estimated, adjuster issues, and approvals.
- Create supplement & change orders for additional items not included in original estimate.
- Document communication issues, rebuttals, F9 notes, macros, and templates.
- Add To dos daily, upload estimates, updates date estimate sent, and date estimate approved in company CRM Dash.
- Document every communication including phone calls and emails into Dash.
- Update estimate communication spreadsheet daily.
- Adhere to timelines and communication SOP set for follow-up calls.
- Report the # and $ of all estimates sent and approved of the previous week.
- Assist Administration with call intake and job entry during surge times.
- Participate in On-call rotations for afterhours/emergency calls.
Qualifications
- 5+ years and/or proven experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or Insurance Adjuster position.
- Excellent organization, documentation, negotiation and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes.
- Intermediate knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Intermediate knowledge of technical construction skills, including but not limited to: drywall, doors, windows, flooring, trim, cabinets, paint, roofing, siding, plumbing, framing, etc.
- Intermediate knowledge of Xactimate, DASH (job management software), Microsoft Suite, and SharePoint.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Must live within 30 minutes of corporate office in East Lansing or be willing to relocate.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
